Emotions: The Big Idea

Love:
red heart, script, bible, jesus, religion, church, family, school, love forever, focus on "love never fails", even if the world were to come to an end we would still have love, everything else doesn't mater,  focal angle, simple, pure, the truth, the red heart stands out on the white paper with black writing

Joy:
with love comes joy, laughter, smiles, the simplest things in life (such as bubbles) can bring us a life full of happiness, no stress, forgetting about the stressful aspects of life, child being a child, sometimes we forget about what it is like to be a child, if we were all to act childish sometimes it may relieve some of our deepest darkest emotions, bubbles standing out on a black background, its amazing how some things in life can stand out and be right in front of our faces without us even realizing it, just take a breath and relax, it may be the healing you need, look for the joy in life and enjoy

Sadness:

Life would not be the same without sadness, fish with an frown, even his bubbles look gloomy, red fish in blue water, he is alone, we sometimes are all alone, there are no fish swimming or floating around this fish, it is important to have a friend, or friends, someone to talk to, someone to confide in, and someone to rely on, family, members of the family can be a great source of company, tears, and sorrow, loss of love, punishment, denial, rejection, becoming even more sad due to the fact of holding all the sadness in, let it out, shout and cry

Lilliam F. Schwartz

Lillian F. Schwartz

File:DaVinci MonaLisa1b.jpg
Mona Leo

Denotations: The Mona Lisa is the female in the big picture. She has long, wavy, dark hair and a lack of eyebrows. Her lip seems to be upturned slightly. The right side of her face (our left) is covered by a portion of a picture. The man in this picture is Leonardo Da Vinci.

Connotations: Lillian is trying to show the similarities between the Mona Lisa and it's creator, Da Vinci. The way she has placed the pictures; the mouth, the eyes, the nose, and even the hair lines match up perfectly. It is as if Mona Lisa is Da Vinci himself. Of course as a women and years younger. Scholars are led to believe Da Vinci painted this as himself in drag. This could be evidence of his homosexuality.
night_scene.jpg
Night Scene

Denotations: The main color focus in this piece is black and white. There is a some star type object in the middle top section of the picture. It stands above the rest of the items in the picture. The images within the picture are created by the use of different lines and dots.

Connotations: This picture shows a city full of buildings in the night. The use of lines and dots produce the buildings. This simple idea of using those lines, creates dimension and complexity in the picture. The white used makes the buildings looked illuminated, which goes with  the Night Scene theme. The object in the middle top of the picture is a star that stands high in the sky above the city.
